Out of Network services will not be covered except for emergency services in the event of an emergency.

This network includes Erlanger facilities and their physicians, as well as non-Erlanger physicians not employed by an excluded healthcare system (Tennova Healthcare Cleveland, Parkridge Hospital, and CHI Memorial Hospital) or any facility in the state of Georgia and are part of the Cigna Open Access Plus Network (Cigna OAP) or the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network (VHAN).

Facility services must be performed at an Erlanger facility unless prior authorization has been obtained. This plan does not provide out of network benefits, except in the case of a true emergency.

Tier 1

Erlanger Providers
In order to maximize your healthcare benefits, seek services with Erlanger physicians & facilities. Services performed at facilities outside of Tier 1 will require prior authorization.

Tier 2*

VHAN Providers
Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network (VHAN) providers can be utilized with Tier 2 benefits. Services at VHAN facilities are only allowed if not available through Erlanger and will require prior authorization in order to be covered by the Plan. Cigna OAP
Cigna Open Access Plus providers that are not employed by excluded facilities, (Tennova Healthcare Cleveland, Parkridge Hospital, CHI Memorial Hospital, or any facility in the state of Georgia), can be utilized inside Tennessee with Tier 2 benefits and outside Tennessee with Tier 3 benefits. Services at Cigna OAP facilities are only allowed if not available through Erlanger and will require prior authorization in order to be covered by the Plan. *Tier 2 benefits will apply for Murphy Medical Plan members as well as Life Force employees that access Cigna OAP providers, regardless if inside or outside Tennessee. Excluded providers still apply.
